Thanks for the hearty, heartfelt interjection! And the answer to your question is "yes", although at times I wish it were otherwise and I was blessed with the gift of eloquence that others--such as yourself--have in abundance.
It could easily be a metaphor for the process we go through every year in Scotland about this time... just darkness... no point going out... we all know what this means... hibernation!
